Cup Packer
1.Application
GW-SS 6 5/8¡± Cup packer is a kind of packer which relies on the interference and differential pressure between the OD of cup and ID of casing to achieve sealing.It is mainly used for the low relative pressure wells,also can be used for well washing,oil layer anti-pollution etc..
2.Structure
GW-SS 6 5/8¡± cup packer consists of upper sub,lower sub,mandrel,cup and other components(see assembly chart below).

Cup is the key part of the packer,it bear the working pressure of packer,ensure the sealing property,meanwhile it also adapts to the complex working environment of downhole,therefore it is very strick to the materials and dimension of the cup.In order to improve the bearing capacity of cup,we add a group of sulfureted steel frame in the middle of cup.

3.Working principle
3.1 Setting
GW-SS 6 5/8¡± Packer is self-setting packer,after going in hole,relies on the interference between cup and ID of casing,the cup sticks on the inner wall of casing, the annular ***ce of upper and lower ends of packer separated.When the pressure of open side is stronger than the other side,this pressure make the cup further opening and sticks on the inner wall tighter,setting completed.
3.2 Releasing
When oppositive pressure exists at upper and lower ends of packer,it forces the cup contracts,then lift the string,releasing completed.In this case, the upper and lower ends of the packer interconnected. Even there`re lots of small layer sand or other mechanical debris, you can still increase the lifting load and easily raise the well string, avoiding the more complex downhole operation, which is the other packers can not be done.
4. Features
4.1 No-anchor structure,can be used in straight well,inclined well,horizontal well.
4.2 Cup can be assembled in any direction, and easy disassembly.
4.3 Self-setting feature saves much operating time and cost.
